Your Body Is your Temple

Yesterday I read something that I would like to share with you:

“You are one special being born from the joining of one sperm out of approximately 500 million and one egg. You are already a winner, a divine being comprised of a body, mind and spirit. You already have everything you need to  live to your highest potential, to live fully.”

It starts with taking care of yourself. Cherish, Love, and respect your temple unconditionally no matter what the current shape. ” – Susan Smith Jones, PH.D.

I loved reading this, it couldn’t have read this at a better time. You see I have been stressing these past weeks with self image. I tend to be very harsh on myself, criticizing every small flaw or imperfection; I have since I was a kid. I should tell you I was a chunky kid, so of course I was teased a lot back then and that has carried all the way through my adult life. Though I have gotten better, there are times more often then I’d like, when I fall back into old habits of staring at myself in the mirror or going through pictures thinking of everything negative there is about me.

Reading this made me realize that I need to STOP. We are all guilty of doing this to ourselves at some point, but why?  Our body does such wonderful things for us on a daily basis, it really  is our “temple” and it will respond to the care, love and respect we give it regardless of the flaws it may have.  Last year that I began being active I saw that this is true. My body responded in such wonderful ways, I had more energy, I didn’t get sick as often, I lost weight, my clothes fit great! And yet this old habit of mine still haunts me.

As I finished reading that small piece of wisdom, (because truly that is what it is) I decided that I will make the necessary adjustments to my body to give it the respect and love it deserves. I mean when I thought about all the body does not just on the outside but all our organs inside us, how could we not want to take care of ourselves.  So as of today I am committed to embrace a healthier lifestyle, eat healthy foods, exercise regularly (I like many, tend to fall off the bandwagon often) , but most importantly I will only embrace positive thoughts about my body.

From now on I will visualize my body as my friend not my enemy that won’t fit into my jeans! So next time you are beating yourself up like I was, remember that we only have one body for our lifetime so we should take better care of it and give it all the love it deserves!

Power of Juicing….

Recently I have been hearing more and more about  juicing. I hear that it has a lot of benefits so I thought I’d do a bit of research before actually trying it myself and here is what I found.

Obviously we all know that eating fruits and vegetables will aid you in being healthier and helps prevent a variety of diseases. What I didn’t know was that  it can help prevent heart disease, cancer, and obesity.  That is a huge benefit! Not only that, but it helps your body repair and detoxify all the junk we put in it. It also promotes the health of cells and organs in your body.

Another reason why juicing is good is that the body can quickly absorb larger amounts of nutrients from juices than from solid foods because the process of digestion that is necessary when you eat whole foods is bypassed. So you can see that fresh juice made at home has a lot more benefits than store bought. Fresh juice rejuvenates your body and boosts your immune system so your body can heal itself. Bottom line is I think I am going to give it a whirl!

I am following up with a list of juices and their benefits. Remember that you should always consult your physician before starting anything new that will affect your health.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

These are the four agreements:

“agreement 1

Be impeccable with your words – Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

agreement 2

Don’t take anything personally – Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

agreement 3

Don’t make assumptions – Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

agreement 4

Always do your best – Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.”

This book was recommended to me by a friend who read it and told me it was an eye opener. That it would help me the rest of my life. I am not a big reader, well at least I wasn’t a year ago, but this book seemed small enough for me to crack open. My friend was absolutely right! I truly feel that it made me improve all around as a person. The agreements are so simple and yet so powerful… With every page I read, I grew a deeper understanding on my own behaviors and why I reacted the way I did to situations. And at the same time I let go of a lot of baggage I  was carrying  around  because you  learn that yes, while our lives do revolve around agreements we have with others, the most important agreement is the one we make to respect and honor ourselves every day of our lives.

The Olive Tree

Olive Leaf Extract

Much has been said about the power of the Olive Tree. We all have heard about the incredible and miraculous healing powers of it and might wonder whether or not has any scientific reliability. The truth is that Scientific Research has been conducted and found that the Olive Leaf Extract contains antimicrobial, antioxidants and hypoglycemic properties. Basically the benefits are quite a few. Not to mention it was one of the first botanicals mentioned in the Bible as the one that will heal the nations. Also, it was an Olive branch that was brought to Noah as a sign that the flood was over.

I was introduced to the power of the olive tree by a very good friend and a vivid testimonial of the power of FAITH, inner strength and constant personal evolution. My friend was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease. After suffering extreme physical and emotional pain and very little progress in recovery with traditional antibiotic treatments, she started doing research on the benefits of the Olive Leaf Extract. Her experience with it was truly miraculous and her recovery an inspiring one. Visit her blog at to read her full story, her research on the Olive Tree, and most importantly to learn about the power of FAITH in times of physical and emotional crisis. Good Health 😉

Here is a great tip for people who just like my old self suffer from severe allergies. I spend most of my life sick all the  time. I was allergic to almost everything in the environment as well as to certain kinds of food. My symptoms were like those of a severe cold with very bothersome nasal congestion. I was constantly on antibiotics and weekly vaccinations that “help me” fight all my allergens. Nothing really worked until I discover the magic of Nasal Saline Rinsing. Basically is a salt water solution that cleans your nasal passages and gets rid of all allergens and mucus causing nasal infections that in most cases can potentially become chronic and with time more difficult to treat. I can honestly say that this natural therapy changed my life. I no longer need my weekly shots and I haven’t taken any antibiotics in more than three years. I’m not a doctor, I’m simply sharing my life changing experience with this treatment. It is always recommended to consult with your physician before starting any new treatment. GOOD HEALTH 😉
